ULRIKE
ULRIKE, born in Salzburg, Austria, has always been drawn to the worlds of art and music. At 16, she was accepted into the Design Academy in Salzburg, which mostly taught fabric designs and fashion. However, life took her in a different direction—at 19, she joined a Top 40 band as a singer, eventually expanding her role to tour manager and record promoter. For the next decade, she traveled across Europe, embracing the rich diversity of cultures and the exhilarating freedom of life on the road.
In 1981, ULRIKE made the move to the United States, where she spent nearly 20 years in Hollywood's Entertainment Industry, working for a major studio. Her expertise in event management led her to organize high-profile productions, including the World Stuntmen Awards, Hot 100, MTV Music Awards, Democratic Convention events for President Bill Clinton, movie premieres, TV show wrap parties, and corporate functions. She also curated a monthly art exhibit at Paramount Studios’ Dining Room for several years.
In 2011, ULRIKE transitioned from studio life to focus on writing, contributing inspirational articles to magazines and immersing herself in her longtime metaphysical studies. To date, she has authored over 80 printed articles and five published books, continuing to teach metaphysical workshops in her community. From 2011 to 2013, she was also a contributing writer for the Los Angeles Examiner.
Though her love for painting and drawing began in childhood, it wasn’t until she settled in Palm Springs, California, that she fully embraced her dream of becoming a full-time visual artist.
Her work has been recognized in meaningful ways—she was one of the selected artists for the Idyllwild Deer Project, with her fawn Opal proudly featured at Café Aroma. She was also chosen to participate in the Heart for Hope Fundraiser benefiting Loma Linda Children’s Hospital in Indio, an exhibition at Heather James Gallery and CODA Gallery, Palm Desert, which raised funds for this noble cause. Two of her large-scale paintings have been permanently installed at the Loma Linda Children’s Clinic in San Bernardino.
Today, ULRIKE explores surrealistic imagery through mixed media, collage, and whimsical 3D creations, embracing bold, vibrant colors that reflect her artistic energy. In the creatively rich environment of the Coachella Valley, she continues to evolve her practice while also contributing to the artistic community. She currently serves as the Chair of the Board for the Artists Council, combining her love for both the business and creative aspects of art.
